Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
Learn to teach restorative yoga, with an awareness and sensitivity to stress and trauma. Explore how you can use yoga to support the nervous system, helping people to feel calm, supported and safe.
The course includes the following areas of study:
- understanding stress, how we hold it in our bodies and how it impacts our minds
- the role of the breath in the stress response, and pranyama (breathing) practices to cultivate calm
- principles of restorative yoga and the need to slow down
- how to teach restorative asanas and a restorative yoga class
- restorative yoga as a stand alone class and incorporating poses into a regular yoga class
- restoring the nervous system with mindful movement, the breath and meditation
- an introduction to yoga nidra as a tool for deep rest and restoration
- lifestyle and self care, addressing how our choices impact our nervous system
- cautions of teaching restorative, or any yoga, particularly in terms of trauma and mental health
- limitations as a yoga teacher and professional boundaries
Will I get a qualification at the end?
The course is registered as 40 CEP points with Yoga Alliance. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
